The Flowers at Temple Square

Yesterday mom, dad and I went up to Salt Lake City to go see a Tabernacle Choir concert featuring Brian Stokes Mitchel and the Utah Symphony. It was part of the celebration of the 150th celebration of the Golden Spike. I don't know much about that to be honest.

Mom was in the concert, because she is in the choir, but dad and I had some free time and walked around the City Creek Center and ate some dinner. I went to kneader's and he went to Costa Vida which was nearby. I got a chicken pesto panini that came with Parmesan chips. I also got a fruit tart, which was amazing, and a little package of macarons, which to be honest didn't impress me much. They must have been cheap macarons. We didn't see very many shops, but we did get to look around the Microsoft store. That was a store I chose. I saw this huge $4000 surface screen that was 28 inches long. I'm pretty sure it is meant for art, architecture and other careers having to do with design. I've never seen one in person until yesterday, so it was cool finally getting to play around with that. It reminds me of a huge tablet. I can see why it is great for design.

I got to walk around Temple square a bit and take pictures of some of the flowers. I'd like to come back sometime and get even more pictures. My time was limited, so I couldn't get them all.

Here is a random picture I took when dad and I were walking around the Conference Center to pass time.

The concert was enjoyable. Dad and I gotin our seats and hour and a half early at 6:30pm because that is when they open the doors to the Conference Center. We were actually first in line at door 9. I fell asleep in my chair for a while after I sat down. It really si better to get seats earler, because you get better seats in your assigned section. Because of my nap I didn't have to waste much of my already low phone battery thankfully.

We got home around 10:30pm I think. It might have been later. I just played games for the rest of the night before I went to sleep.

Chopping Off the Locks

Today I went to vocational rehab again and was actually stuck there for nearly two hours while Judy typed up all the info to send to the government so I can get help for school. Book money and stuff like that. She had to know my financial status, and a whole lot of personal info. I brought her my grades like she asked from spring semester and also brought a new book list, tuition cost paper, and class schedule.  To be honest I still have my doubts about taking French this semester, but I’ll try my best. She said I could drop that class if it becomes too hard for me.  One thing I’m anxious about is that I have to do the pell grant SAP (satisfactory academic progress) appeal so I can get the pell grant to pay for school. I have to at least try and fix my inelegebility for that or vocational rehab can’t pay for college. They want the pell grant to pay as much as it can and the. They do the rest. I’m a bit nervous because I looked at all the stuff I need for the appeal and I don’t understand all of it. I failed my first two semesters and then had to withdraw from one in fall 2013 so that messed up my pell grant elegebility and vocational rehab has been paying every semester, but this time I guess they need me to try to get the pell grant. I think things are getting more strict there or something.

Anyway, after all that stuff with Judy and waiting for everything to be typed up I finally got to leave. I have to go to school tomorrow and ask about the requirements for the pell grant appeal. I get that I’m supposed to tell them what happened with those three semesters I had trouble in and what has changed, but the rest I’m fuzzy on. I hate paperwork…

Mom and I actually got to go to one of the local outdoor shopping centers to look for Pokemon. There is this shop that sells toys, games and candy that I think is the cutest thing ever. Mom loved it and thought it was charming as well. I found out about it when I was out with friends last year. I’ll have to get pictures sometime.

After I was done at vocational rehab I ate a B-UP bar (cookie dough flavored) for a late lunch and since my hair appointment was at 6:30 and it was 3 hours away I had mom drop me off at the mall. I wanted to show off my new shirt anyway.

I just walked around for a while and eventually got my haircut! One thing I really like doing when I’m at the mall is checking out all the rings at S.L. Sorry I have to omit names, I do it for privacy. It’s basically a little jewelry kiosk. I got my ears pierced there a year ago. I’ll have to get pictures of their stuff sometime. I also made a stop by work and got a frozen lemonade. I got the raspberry one. I was planning on staying away from sugar again, but I really wanted a lemonade. Anyway, I am glad my hairstylist Brenna is back from maternity leave. She is the only one I trust with my hair. She did a great job tonight Here is is below. It took about an hour for Brenna to do it.

I am happy with it and it’s so easy to manage! Oh, but one thing I forgot to mention when I was talking about walking around the mall is that my favorite grilled cheese place Melty Way closed down! I’m so heart broken. Stuff like this happens on a regular basis at the mall. It really is a tragic thing to say the least.

Anyway, dad picked me up and I went home and got to show off my new cut.

Hope you liked them! I took these photos a few weeks ago. Nothing really happened today that was that interesting so i decided to just share these photos. I was feeling a bit bummed about not getting to go with my sister to the water park, so I just had to do something cheerful. If anything interesting does happen later I'll make sure to edit.

I don't know if you want to listen to this, but i did it earlier when I was feeling considerably more sad. I just needed to voice how I was feeling.

Starlight

Starlight
my angel in the skies
break this mirror of deceit
call out the moon
take away my tears
this curtain of night
has tried so long
to shade me
from where I am going
from where I belong

Whisper sweet things in my ear
I’m solitary, so afraid
wrap me in your wings
comfort me, I am not alone
cradle of Starlight
bring me there
from the night
and show me the truth
show me the light

Starchild
sing to me
show me the truth
show me the love
a sparkling fantasy
awaits us all
we all see truth
if we look
within the curtain of night
guide my way
lead me to the sky

Whisper sweet things in my ear
I am solitary, so alone
fly me to the skies
comfort me, I am never alone
angel of starlight
bring me there
from the darkness
pull back the veil of lies
show me the truth

Paradise
the mirror is shattered
the night no more
when darkness is pierced
this power of starlight
guiding my way
through the tretcherous night
find my way at last
to paradise, to light
come follow me
I will guide your way
don’t fear the night
embrace the light

Whisper sweet things in my ear
I’m solitary, so afraid
wrap me in your wings
comfort me I am never alone
cradle of Starlight
bring me there
from the night
and show me the truth
show me the light
show me the paradise
starlight, starlight
