Out on the Town

I'll be honest, my trip to SLC tonight was a first time trial and error thing. I've been up to Salt Lake City before of course, but I always had plans. Tonight my ward did a trip and everything everyone did was completely spontaneous. I think I could have handled things better and done more. There is nothing much to tell about before the trip so I'll skip my shenanigans at home for tonight.

My dad dropped me off at the local church where the bus our bishop arranged was parked. I left around 6pm, and I thought I was late. I should have known better, the bishop had planned to leave at 6:30, but told everyone to arrive at 6pm. Anyone that knows our ward knows that we are almost always famously late for everything. I am one of the few truly punctual ones and was the first one on the bus. We left only 3 minutes late at 6:30 and someone started handing out treat bags. At the time the bus lights had just been turned off, so I couldn't really see what it was that I was about to eat other than something caramel covered and a few other things. Even now I'm not 100% sure what the caramel covered stuff was, but it had the same crunchy feel of something like cheese puffs or something. It definitely wasn't popcorn, I'd know popcorn anywhere. Other than the mystery snack I found M&Ms, and mini milkyways, and Butterfingers in the bag. I was kind of hungry and I get carsick on an empty stomach, so I was really grateful for this stuff.

I just want to say that the trip was okay, but it could have been better, anyway you'll see...

I didn't talk much on the bus, as is usually the case when I'm on the road. I had come bundled up in my new black coat, a black, blue, and purple scarf and my cream colored hat that has ear flaps that keep my ears warm. I decided to take the jar and scarf off, but left my coat on while I was in the bus. Anyway so after 45 minutes we finally got to SLC and the bus driver let us off at one of the entrances to temple square. I started out my two hours there with a girl named Heidi and her friends. We went to the visitors center and took a restroom break and headed back outside after with our group. I guess she didn't really want to be there for very long, so we found another group I could be with after she left not to long after that. The second group I was on was looking around temple square and it was make up more people I know. I usually get rides with Whitney to church, she was there along with two people I've known for a long time, Stacy and Koa ( might be spelling that wrong). There was a couple others, but I don't remember who they were now.

I should probably mention that my hat and scarf were back on now because it was freezing and windy outside.

We decided to head back to the Temple Square visitors center where we saw the Christus and paintings, and watched a short film. We took a photo in front of this scene, but I don't have the photo of us all yet.

After this we just wandered around temple square to the Tabernacle, and what I think is the assembly hall. We also saw the nativity scene, and it had narration and beautiful music with it. Sadly I didn't get any videos or pictures because it was so packed. I was amazed how many people were out despite the really cold and windy weather.

I was thinking at this point in time, about 25 minutes before our departure that I could have spent my time wiser. It was 8:50 and we were getting back on the bus at 9:15. We decided to head to the mall ( where I now think I should have been the whole time) and maybe get some hot chocolate if we had time. Sadly we started talking to someone that went up with us that we met there and so we only got to see the amazing trees, including the big Christmas tree and the fountain. I didn't get to go inside any of the stores this time.

Last picture of temple square.

Anyway, so we got back on the bus and went home. I grabbed another treat bag for my way back and so did some others. I surfed through facebook and Stumbleupon on my way back to kill some time.

I went to the store with my mom sometime afterward, but it was just to get some anti flea stuff for Panda because she has been itching a lot. I also pointed out a 32oz water bottle I need very badly while I was there. I'm hoping I get it for Christmas.

Nothing more to tell.

The Concert

Today I started my day by watching a few episode of Sailor Moon. I am now in th 3rd arc of the show. I don't even know what chapter I am on the manga now. I haven't really been paying attention to that at all.

We have a channel over here on TV that I have recently taken a liking to, it plays a lot of old TV shows from the 50's and 60's. I am pretty familiar with old TV shows because my mom and dad love watching old stuff. I spent a few hours surfing Xanga, reading about the shooting, and playing games on my phone at the same time I was doing this. I have gotten into the habit of always doing something while I am watching a movie or watching TV. I think it has something to do with the fact I don't just like sitting and doing nothing. When I am sitting I always have something to do, or am thinking about something.

As a random note I had a cheese sandwich and ice cream for lunch.

My mom gave me 4 tickets to a tabernacle choir concert. I put them in my purse, plugged in my charger, and got on Xanga and surfed for a while and also updated my blogger blog (eternalstarryskies). I did this for about 2 hours.

I logged into Destiny Online for fun, turned on Pandora Radio, and started the upload of my fireworks video that I took on the fourth. I started the upload on YouTube, but it told me It was going to take 48 minutes. I was expecting my aunt any minute and I didn't want my computer to go to sleep, so that is why I turned on Pandora. It doesn't go to sleep if pandora is on. I have a laptop.

my aunt and uncle got to the house about 30 minutes later. I was watching TV. I left my room the way it was and left.

we talked about school and other stuff in the car. I told them I am taking 10 credits next semester. I just sat there in the car playing games on my phone until we got to SLC. I mostly played Tetris, but I also played minesweeper, flow, and a few others.

after we got to the conference center after parking, we found the door we were supposed to go in and sat on the side of a nearby fountain. My uncle asked me if I wanted something to eat before, but I said no.

We got in the actual line about 15 minutes before the doors opened.  The doors opened at half past six. They scanned out tickets, we went through the metal detector, and they checked our bags. We then proceeded to go into the Conference Center ( the part where we sat). We found our seats and then we just waited for an hour and a half almost.
I played games on my phone while I was waiting. I played mostly Minecraft Pocket Edition. I am in the middle of building a house, I will show you guys when I am done.

The concert started at 8pm. It was amazing, they had a lot of show tunes.  The guest singer was the girl that was 2nd runner up in Dancing with the stars 2 months ago I think she said. Her name is Katherin Jenkins. While the concert was amazing, when they surprised us with bringing out her partner from the show that was amazing. They did the paso doble for us and it was amazing.

She sings pretty well and I really enjoyed the evening. After the concert ended we went out right after and found the car. We were stuck in traffic for a few minutes, but we made it out.

After I got home I spent a few minutes on Destiny Online, and here I am now typing this.

I am starving now so I think I am going to end this here and go eat.

Music and Christmas Cheer!

So pretty much yesterday was awesome. Yesterday was a dress rehearsal for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. David Archuleta is the guest singer for the next 3 days, he sounds like an angel!

Anyway, so my day began pretty normal yesterday. I did the usual, updating twitter, checking facebook, looking at pictures, listening to music. Stuff like that takes up a lot of my day usually. Around 30 minutes to noon I started getting ready for the concert. I washed my hair and stuff, got dressed, then I decided since I was sort of still tired and only got about 6 hours of sleep I would take a nap before the concert.

I took the nap with my towel still on it was a little weird but I slept for about 45 minutes before I took it off and then went back to sleep for another 30 minutes. My hair was still wet when I woke up but it was really funny because it was all over the place. It has a tendency to do that when it's wet and not brushed.  It was about 3pm by this time. I blow dried my hair and did my bangs, and got my jewelry together. it was about 3:30pm by then. I just sort of hung out while I was waiting for my dad to get back and got some other stuff together like my glasses and my monocular.

We left at about 4pm and drove up to Salt Lake. We stopped at subway on the way there and ate dinner. All 7 of us were packed into our 6 passenger car it was pretty cramped. I was listening to pandora radio on my phone the whole entire time we were driving, and snacking on roasted almonds.  My brother brought a date, she was pretty nice. The car drive wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. My nieces were pretty noisy though, but not to noisy.

There was a lot of traffic, we got there at about 5:15 or 5:30 I think. The city was pretty busy that day, it took us forever to park. Lucky for us both my parents are in the choir and they have a place to park just for choir members. Otherwise it would have been harder for us to find parking... a lot harder.

So after we parked, we just made sure everything was in order and then we went our seperate ways. My mom and dad went to go get dressed for the concert and we went to get in line.

We were in line for about 45 minutes, during that time my little niece had to go to the bathroom and it was funny because she tried to hold it but couldn't. we eventually got her in to the building somehow with the help of some guards and she got to go. We were standing in line for  45 minutes or so like I said before. It was pretty cold, but I had a good coat on. I showed my brother's girlfriend some pictures of the guy I like (Sam), and talked about some of my other friends.  I also texted Darik a few times while I was waiting. He texted me back which made me really quite happy.

They opened the doors to the conference center at about 6:30 or 6:35. We were all pretty excited to go inside. They checked our purses, and our tickets and we went through the metal detector. After that we went inside and found our seats. I sent a picture to Darik when I was in my seat, he thought it was pretty cool, and he wished he could go. I wanted to give him tickets, but we didn't have any extras to my memory, I did ask my mom later though just in case but she said she didn't have any more. :(

The concert started at about 8pm it was so nice. David Archuleta sent chills up my spine with his angelic singing, and the choir too! Everything about it was magical. There were dancers and the lighting and stuff was so pretty!  We had pretty great seats as well on top of that.

My niece Kayla was a little noisy at first and a person behind us actually scolded her once for bothering them. I made it a point for the whole rest of the concert to not let that happen again and made sure she payed attention to what she was supposed to be paying attention to.  She was pretty good after a while. She is only 7 so we were a bit worried how she would behave, she was pretty good though.

I brought my glasses and my monocular so I could see better and wouldn't miss anything.

The concert lasted about an hour and a half, after t was finished we just sat in our seats and waited for the choir members to leave, then we went to find the car.

We encountered a bit of trouble with that though and decided to just wait until my dad found us in the parking so he could help us find the car. My mom came too after a few minutes and we went to the car after that.

We weren't stuck in traffic as long as I thought we would be. We actually got out fairly quickly.

We just drove home and talked about family stuff, memories and some other things.  I was just listening to music the whole entire time again. I was really worn out by the time I got home. Crowds really tire me out sometimes.

I just go on the computer and watched anime for a while and then went to bed after that.

It was a pretty fun day yesterday! :)
