Curve-ball

I am the kind of person that likes a lot of freedom and space to do my thing. I am the kind of person that would love living on my own and doing my own thing. This part of me sometimes causes me a lot of anxiety because right now I lack a lot of life skills that a lot of people have usually by my age. This fact has been causing me a lot of grief for a while, I don’t know how to get around on my own, or even do simple things like do my own laundry and my cooking skills are mediocre at best. Never in my dreams would I have guessed I would be thrown the unexpected curveball I was thrown today at my appointment with my vocational rehab councilor.

When I left for her office I was just planning on telling her the price of my books, my tuition, what classes I’m taking so she could pay for my tuition, but I got something even better. Around May sometime next year I’m going to be given a chance to live in an apartment with another girl and there will be some other people as well living in different apartments nearby that will be learning lifeskills besides me and my roommate. They are going to teach me how to do stuff like get around on my own, cooking, doing laundry and probably a lot more things. All the people that are going to go through  this will have visual impairments as well. To say I was happy when I got this chance is an understatement. For a while I have been feeling like I really need to get out, like I need to be on my own and learn. I have been praying that God would help me get through my hard times. Today I had no doubt that this is an answer to my prayers. I know that it isn’t going to be easy, but I really need this and I know it is right. A lot of my family and people around me aren’t going to be able to see me for six months starting next May, but this is something I desperately need. I really give God credit for what happened today, I wasn’t expecting this at all. I not only get to do this, but my vocational rehab councilor is also getting me a bus pass that will last for a year. Words cannot even describe how good I am feeling right now. I finally get my wish and get to learn a lot of stuff I’ve been learning for a long time.
I could have chosen to go this year, but I want to get prepared a little more, get in better shape, get mentally prepared, etc. I also want to do two more semesters of college before I go through with this. God is good, and he knows just what I need, that is for sure.

I was supposed to see my vocational rehab councilor a week ago, but I missed the appointment twice. This was my third time making the appointment and I made it this time. I was worried for a few days that I wouldn’t get to go because I was waiting for my financial aid results and I had to take a math test and get the list of books and all this stuff. I had blanked out making the appointment earlier in the summer. I am glad I did it just in time. I am taking English and History and decided to skip out on math the last second because I’m sure I’ll get enough challenge.

I’ve been through a lot of stuff this summer and this year in general, but for now I just want to tell you about this. There will be plenty of time for stories of the past later. It is a beautiful day today and things are looking up and I feel so good now. With all the drama with friends and with the Xanga site relaunch I have been feeling a bit fried lately, but I am back to life now and ready for a new semester at school!

I’ll write more later. I have so much I haven’t said.

Boring Weekend and...

Very boring weekend, I didn't really have anything to write about. Yesterday was pretty fun. The day up until the afternoon was pretty uneventful, I slept in late, woke up about noon. I read manga for a few hours after I woke up.  My mom made a whole bunch of sandwiches, and cut up a pineapple, we bought some chips and got everything ready to do a picnic outside. My brother, sister in law and my niece came as well. We set everything up outside. When we were about to eat however it started raining and we had to rush everything inside. We ended up eating our picnic inside, I thought that was kind of funny. I ate an eg sandwitch, and had some pineapple. We also had some grape and orange soda. We usually don't drink soda in my family so it was nice.

I went back downstairs and watched "Ponyo" after this. A little while later we left for the cemetery to put flowers on the graves of various family members. We packed 2 cars full of people. I was in the car with my niece, my sister in law and my 2 brothers. We joked about how we were in the car with the cool people.  The other car had my other 2 nieces, my sister and my mom and dad. It was a pretty fun drive to the cemetery. We listened to Timberland and my niece was being really cute in the car. We were going to go to the store but ended up not going. I was a little disappointed because I was craving chocolate.

When we got to the cemetery we just went around putting flowers down on various family members graves. We were pushing my niece in a stroller and she was looking around everywhere with really wide eyes. Her eyes are so blue, she looked adorable.  Whenever we got a a grave we mentioned something about that family member and pointed out the various other people that were also buried there. Sometimes we looked at some people's graves that we didn't even know, some of the names were pretty weird.

We drove home after that, my niece fell asleep in her car seat, it was really cute. After we got home I grabbed an orange creamsicle out of the freezer and went downstairs. I just watched Detective Conan, and looked up MMORPGs I might want to play. To the best of my memory nothing much happened after that. I did end up downloading "Legend of Edda" a MMORPG that I had played a few months back, but after I re-installed my operating system I didn't really think of downloading it again until now. I have just been playing that today, it's a LOT more fun than Destiny Online quite honestly. I just hope I can make a lot of friends on it like I did on Destiny.

Anyway, I guess that's all for now. :)

May Happenings

So all this stuff happened in May.

My sister and my best friend had a birthday on the same day. I ended up doing stuff with my family instead though. She understood. This was around May 17th.

Two of my friends got home from their LDS mission, they are twins. I have known them for 10 years. They're really cool guys.

Another missionary friend of mine got permission to make a facebook. This made me very happy. Though the rules say we can't talk to each other while he is still serving. I am still happy and feel closer to him now.

A lot of rain, and the warm weather has taken forever to get here.  It even snowed sometime around June.

Haven't gotten much time to run or Jog lately since it has been sort of weird weather wise, and a lot of rain has been falling.

After I got my new computer I started playing Destiny Online again and got re aquainted with my friends again. I am now semi-active on the game again though I don't spend nearly as much time on it as I used to including I actually turn my computer off when I sleep instead of just leaving the game on all night like I used to.

I am probably blanking some stuff out but I think that is all.

Wedding!

That's a picture of my brother's wedding cake, I'm not going to put pictures of them up for privacy purposes though.

The wedding was held in an LDS temple so i didn't get to see them get sealed (married), I'm not allowed to enter that part of the temple yet.
Anyway so I sat there for an hour or so then they came out, we took a ton of pictures! It was a lot of fun but it was a little cold. After we took pictures we went out to eat at "Los Harmonos" a very popular Mexican restaurant in our area. I had a chicken burrito with rice and beans, and a tropical drink, it was great!.
My sister, her fiance, and my brother (other one), went out to the party store after the lunch and we got stuff to decorate my brothers car with after the reception.
I was home after that for a bout 2 hours.
I went to the reception, basically its just a bunch of people stand in line and greet the bride and groom, have cake, and other refreshments, get to talk to each other, etc. I don't really remember what kind of cake and ice cream they had there but it was pretty good! OH! look I have a picture

the drink was limeade (I love that stuff)

From left to right:
chocolate candies with raisins in the middle
nuts
various chocolate candies.

it was great as you can see

My feet hurt so badly by the end of the reception from wearing my annoying shoes all day. I'll take a picture of the dress I was wearing later. It was pretty fun, my sister's purple hair went well with the colors ha ha.
I  am so glad I brought my camera so I could show you.

After  the reception we got to say goodbye to them, blow bubble,s pop balloons, and stuff like that.
After we got home we got undressed and got into more casual clothes.
We went and saw the new Star Trek movie after. It was pretty nice.
After I got home i finished some of my leftover food from "Los Harmonos" and played Destiny Online for a while.

We're going to be opening their presents today. I'm excited.
