Hair Care Headache

Over the past two days things have been fun. On Thursday we went up to Salt Lake City to see the Christmas lights on Temple Square. The whole family was together (except for Tim). We had tacos at Paul and Kayla's house before we went. One kind was fish and the other was beef and bean I think. There was cheese, lettuce, guacamole, salsa, and some kind of slaw made with cilantro, and something else. Everything was great. I got to study some French while I was there. I focused on nouns. I have no clue how I did it with all m nieces and nephews together making a LOT of noise. There was a lot of screaming and stuff. The family got into a political discussion (I stayed out of it) and when they were done we agreed it was time to go to Salt Lake City.

Here are the couple of pictures I got.

We went around temple square and visited the visitors center, the tabernacle, and the Joseph Smith Memorial building. I got separated from the family and went to the south visitors center because that is the place where I first talked to Sam when we were in high school. We went to Temple Square on a choir trip and I spent  lot of time around him so whenever I go up there I have a lot of memories of being with him. That day was the day I decided I was going to ask hi to preference in the 12th grade. I can't believe it's been 10 years since that day happened. My feelings for him are as strong as ever.

When the family and I decided to go home Linda, Violet, Jax and I went to the City Creek Center and got chocolates from the chocolate factory (Violet got a chocolate marshmallow I think). We then went to our car and went to McDonalds. The line took forever. I got chicken nuggets. Violet got upset because her straw was bent and she couldn't get it in her juice. It was really cute. At first she got upset because she couldn't get the wrapper off of her straw. She was so tired.

That was yesterday.

Today I went to work. We were busy and so i had to help roll, make bon bites, and also cinna sweeties. I did a bit of cleaning, but not much. I hung around the mall for a bit after work and listened to music, then I headed home on the bus. I stopped at the store to get some deodorant, and Conditioner. I realized that Dove hair care products have sulfates, so i had to buy some shampoo as well since I've been using Dove for my shampoo as well. I am really picky about my hair care products because I am growing out my hair. It took me an hour to decide on OGX Coconut Milk shampoo and conditioner. OGX has a fantastic line of hair care products. I am excited to try the one I got out. It was a hard decision because the store had so many hair care products. I nearly went back to using Giovani hair products, but remembered they leave my hair staticky. I do not like really statiky hair. Here is a picture of my new hair stuff.

Oh, just in case you are wondering, I use Secret brand Gel deodorant.

I called dad for a ride when I was done at the store, but he was out shopping, so I headed to Dairy Queen because I was hungry and wasn't sure how long I was going to be stuck at the store. I got a grilled chicken sandwitch, onion rings and a marshmallow sundae. He was able to come and get me soon after i ate.

For the rest of the nigh I've just been watching CSI Miami, playing games on my phone and snacking on various things. It has bee fun having everyone over and things are just going to be more fun over the next week and a half.

Oh Canada

Mom was cleaning out the coat closet when she found this awesome hoodie. I fell in love with it and I've been wearing it all day. It's been pretty boring today. The only interesting part of the day didn't happen until around 7pm.

There was a church activity where we had dinner from Zupas, did a getting to know you activity, and talked about the Book of Mormon. We also started reading it together and got new books. Here is a picture of the dinner. I chose the strawberry raspberry salad with raspberry vinaigrette, potato chips, a ham sandwich and a chocolate strawberry (not pictured).

I got a separate picture of the chocolate strawberries.

There were things all over the walls that had our baby picture and 5 facts about us on them. For the getting to know you activity we took turns standing in front our info and we had people that asked us about ourselves. We rotated and did one wall at a time. I was the first wall and got to rotate through 3 different people and learned about other people later when I visited their walls. It was a little hard to talk so much, but I got through it!

The rest of the day before this isn't really important. I did play a lot of trivia crack though!

Trippy Rainbow Surprises

I had chicken, an orange and milk for breakfast. I know that is very bizarre, but I didn't feel like a protein shake.

I went to the gym, did my cardio and then left.

Today the institute was giving out free pancakes and syrup. They were simple, but good pancakes. We talked about the book of Job in the Old Testament today, and I accidentally fell asleep in class. Good thing I already know the material. In choir I thought about leaving the class, but stayed for at least the whole class period because I need to make sure very carefully I want to drop. I sang for part of the class, and just watched the rest.

After this I went to the mall and then to Starbucks. I got a white hot chocolate frappuccino with carmel and a grilled cheese sandwich. Later I thought about getting a new drain plug. from Lowe's or Home Depot, but ended up getting sidetracked and headed to Michael's where I looked around for a while. I found these really cool balls.

I changed my mind about the drain plug and went back to the mall where I bought a new water bottle from Sports Authority.

I called mom and she gave me a ride home. I took a nap when I got home and woke up to a chicken pot pie Laura had cooked for me. I just spent the rest of the night cleaning my room, watching anime and listening to music. Nothing more to write, I'm so tired...

Christmas Shenanigans

Merry Christmas everyone! Or Merry Individually Designated Holiday!

I suppose I should start with Christmas Eve. No need for me to over explain it. We all woke up to surprise snow! This was the first official snow of the season. No one was expecting it because it's been so unchariceristically warm. We've had rain and hail, but nothing more than that. I'll be honest, nothing much happened on Christmas eve. I was down here in the basement for most of the day playing iphone games like Bejeweled, Twodots, Flow Free, Tetris Blitz, and others.

I napped for a few hours, hung around with family just doing random stuff. I spent some time watching SuperMCGamer's let's play of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time on Youtube. In the evening we cooked dinner and wrapped presents. Well, other people besides me wrapped presents. We had a ham, potatoes, salad, carrots, and fruit salad. It was fun watching people make the dinner. I'm not much of a cook, but mom and Laura are, so it's always really interesting seeing them make everything. Sadly I didn't get pictures of most of the food. Even though nothing really exciting happened today besides the snow it was still a great day just because the family was together.

Usually we play the present game, but this year we didn't do it so we could do stocking stuffers. What you do for the present game is you buy a bunch of cheap presents and you all pick a number. You sit in a circle and roll some dice. If you roll a 7 or 11 you can pick a present. Once you roll one you can either pick a present for steal one someone has already opened. This is really fun and sometimes hilarious. Playing the present game has always been one of my favorite traditions.

Anyway, so I was up for most of the night. I know I at least got 4 hours of sleep, but I knew I wouldn't fall asleep again so I just succumbed to my vampire / night owl ways and watched youtube videos all night.

I came out of my dungeon at about 8am. I knew everyone would take a long time to get things started, but I was feeling uncharacteristically impatient anyway. Basically we didn't get to opening presents until around 10:30pm. It took a while for everyone to get together, especially Tim, who had to drive in the snow. All my nieces and nephew were glued to the living room. Even I was parked in front of the fire watching Fate/Stary Night Unlimited Bladeworks episode 10 on my phone via Chrunchyroll.com. Everyone else was listening to Christmas music and just going about their business. My mom was in the kitchen making apple skeebers. They are pancake balls filled with apple sauce and you dip them in maple syrup. We make them every year as a tradition on Christmas morning.

As anticipated everyone than happy to open the presents when we were all gathered together. We usually take turns opening our presents and don't open them all at once. Here are the ones I got. I didn't pay moth attention to what other people got because I was feeling a bit burned out by all the social interaction.

I needed new boots so bad.

Random rainbow headband, just one of many I want.

A jewelry holder.
Fuzzy posters and foam boards.
GLITTER
THE THING I WANTED TO MOST. MY STAR NECKLACE!
GREEN YARN, Linda is going to make me something. :)
some new bangle bracelets!
A star hole punch
RAINBOW SOCKS1
A SCARF AND A MATCHING HAT
FUNKY NAIL POLISH
A LARGE WOODEN BOX
SPRY GUM AND CINNAMON TOOTHPASTE
STENCIL BRISHES
SMALLER WOODEN BOX WITH FLOWER HAIR PINS INSIDE.
PAINTING STENCILS
Here is the video version.

I did my best to hold on through all the excitement, but all the noises, and people, and other things happening I was way over stimulated and burned out. I took all my stuff downstairs and took pictures and a video. I went back and forth from upstairs to downstais a few times getting something to eat. My mom, besides making the apple skeebers made eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast. I wasn't terribly hungry, but I enjoyed it a lot. After I ate I took my plate back upstairs and ten headed back down and fell asleep watching another Ocarina of Time let's play video by SuperMCgamer on youtube. I am on #19 as of now.

I'm not sure how long I slept, but nothing much else happened tonight. Well, after I woke up I found out that Justin caught the flu. Later in the night a couple of hours ago Linda and Jax also caught the flu. There have been a lot of sick people around, so I'm not terribly surprised. I think everyone except for me, Natalie and Kayla have caught it. Anyway, I was doing my usual internet shenanigans, music, reddit, facebook, stumbleupon, watching anime, etc. My family was upstairs playing scrabble and other games and I just didn't feel like joining in later in the night. I ate some chocolate peppermint creams that Linda gave the family for Christmas, as well as some of my mom's toffee, some Nut Thins, and I drank some sparkling peach stuff. Here are some photos.

Anyway, if I forgot to write about anything here I'll add it tomorrow, I am so exhausted by all the excitement. Such is the fate of nearly every introvert like me. We are all pretty much glad it's over, even though it was fun.

Culture

I figured I should probably wait until tonight to write this post. Nothing much besides church happens on Sunday. Today we learned about the importance of the sacrament and the atonement in church. I went with a friend a bit earlier today and hung out in the foyer My phone was only half way charged and so I brought my charger and played games on my phone before church while I was waiting. I have been into Puzzle & Dragons a lot lately. It is a really fun iPhone game, very fun bug also very hard sometimes. It's basically like a cross between Pokemon and bejeweled in a way. I like to listen to Harry Potter while I am doing stuff on my phone, that or one of my other audiobooks. I have a premium membership on Audible.com, so I get a discount and 2 free audiobooks every month. I'm in the process of collecting all of the David Eddings audiobooks.

We had pasta, potatoes, and chicken for dinner tonight. My sister made me a banana split after dinner it was pretty great. I don't eat stuff like that often, I prefer to eat healthy. I am not that fond of sugary stuff anyway, so my eating habits go well with my preferences. When I do eat sugary stuff I always make sure it is something I will really enjoy. I am quite fond of banana splits, so that was perfect.

I broke my sunglasses a few months ago, but because of winter I kind of just let them be for a while. A couple of weeks ago I bought some duct tape and I've been trying to repair them. I hope the duct tape stays on. I painted over the top of it with black nail polish.  I would hate to lose these sunglasses, they are my favorite ones, so that is why I am trying to hard to repair them.

I took a nap earlier today, but other than church and watching the Ghost hunt anime nothing much happened. This is Sunday though, so I am never surprised about it being calm a lot of the time.

Yesterday wasn't much different. I did pretty much the same things, anime, music, games, etc. I went through some J-pop songs on my computer, I need to clean some of those out. I used to listen to a lot of Nami Tamaki and Nana Mizuki when I was younger. I listened to them a bit too much though, so I think I am burnt out on those two singers. I think I need to overhaul my whole music collection. I have so many songs on my computer I haven't listened to in ages. Most of the music I listen to now I find on youtube because I don't want to buy or download anything.

There was a ward church activity yesterday in my home ward. I attend one of the singles wards for church, but I still have a home ward. Home wards are mostly attended by families and young people, young adults go to the singles ward that is in one of the completely separate stakes. For those of my friends that aren't familiar with church terminology a ward can consist of up to a couple hundred people or sometimes a little more. A stake is a collection of wards. I think that in my home stake there are 10 or 11 wards. There are 3 singles stakes within this region that I know of. There are a lot of other home stakes.

Anyway so my home ward had an activity, we had dinner, it was Hawaiian haystacks, ice cream cake, and something else that I forgot. There were tables set along the walls of the cultural hall and they each represented a different country. One of the tables represented some native American tribe or something. I could be wrong though, that one was the only one I didn't get the name of. a native American guy who's name I am sorry I don't know told a little bit about their culture and shared some of their music and a story with us. I thought it was pretty cool, I feel like a bit of an idiot for not knowing the name of the person that shared these cool things with everyone, or who he represented. I have to remember to be a bit more thorough next time something like this happens. I do remember something about morning star dancers or something like that. i could be wrong. *sigh*

Anyway, here are some picture of the tables.

Denmark and Scottland.

Japan

Vienna

Chile

Unknown one I mentioned.

Anyway, after that the kids in the ward got to open 2 piniatas, it was adorable. Nothing worth nothing happened after i went home, not that I remember anyway.

Anyway, I have a lot more to write about, but I think this is okay for today. :)

Just Chilling Out

It's been a few weeks since I got out of school, I have been just taking it easy and I passed all my classes! I've just been playing Minecraft, watching anime, stuff on youtube, been drawing new stuff for the re-launch of my DeviantART page, been writing various things, and talking to friends on and offline.

For a few weeks after school I just kind of lost all my motivation to write, or do anything for a while, I was so burned out. I admit I did procrastinate a few times during the semester and got behind and everything just seemed so big at the time. I chose the wrong teacher for my sociology class, it was 80% test 20% everything else, and that nearly made me fry. I think the hardest thing for me during the semester was the reading for history. It was so hard to concentrate, and i got behind on the reading, and I got so stressed about my renaissance presentation, and also my paper in Sociology. Normally I am fine with reading, but I had become rusty when it came to reading that kind of textbook and really had to push my brain and my eyes to the breaking point. During my last reading session before finals I actually pushed my eyes so hard they actually physically hurt for a whole day afterward.

It's pretty much needless to say I won't be making a lot of the mistakes I made this past semester in the future. I did pass both History and Sociology with C+'s and that is fine for now.

I have finally got my motivation to write back now, so I will be here more and will be doing blog posts daily again. I've been listening to one of my favorite Minecrafter's previous live stream he did last year on twitch.TV, it is saved on there and I thought it would be fun to watch everything I missed back then and to listen to his commentary and the commentary of his guests as well.

I went to Costco today and bought new glasses, they should be here in a few days, my family also bought a bunch of groceries. We were getting a bit scarce and most of us have been too busy up until today to shop, so it was nice. I am definitely going to have to stretch my money this month because of my purchase today, I think I will be fine however.

Some of you know I also blog on Xanga, the stuff I write on here is pretty much the same as what I write on there though with some additional features that are on Xanga. It's a bit different over there, the community is tight, and small and the site is more in the background. I also do stuff with audio on there, can't do that on here though unless if I start using sound cloud or something. Anyway, they are probably going to have to close possibly around the middle of July if they don't raise 60k by then. They have already raised a quarter of what they need already, so I think they will make it. I have a premium membership that I pay for every 6 months, I went ahead and renewed that today because I am still blogging there and it would have been not very fun if I didn't have premium because I have used all my free storage space.

This is my main blog now, it has my custom domain name and everything. I am actually working on getting all my blog posts off of xanga and onto here still. I moved some more of the blog posts from 2009 today, and did 2008 yesterday. It will be really awesome to have everything here once I am done. Xanga doesn't have an export feature, so I have to do it myself manually. Once I get everything here however, if I ever want to move somewhere else it will be a breeze.

I'm not going to give anyone the link to my other blog, it really isn't necessary, it'll all be here pretty soon. I hope you guys continue to read my blog in the future. To anyone that is new, welcome to my blog!

If I forgot to write anything, I'll just write it tomorrow.

Un-Birthday Dinner

Pretty ordinary Sunday. I woke up at 10am, washed my hair, played Tetris for a while, blow dried my hair, styled it a little after I sprayed my anti frizz treatment on it and my anti- heat damage spray on it too. I hair sprayed it, then got ready for church.

Church was normal as usual. Today we had fast and testimony meeting so i got a chance to go up and bear my testimony in front of everyone. We also had a nice lesson on being grateful for what we have. I read my scriptures and played a little bit of Flow during church as well.  I have actually gotten to the 11X11 grids now. Above you see a picture of the game.   I still have so many levels to go.

We had a break the fast dunner after church. Everyone brought something. I didn't eat very much because my mom was making dinner at home. I went home after 20 minutes with one of my other friends named Melissa. We talked about life and stuff in the car and stuff we like.

When I got home i watched stuff on my computer for a while and played Tetris.

We had Cesar Salad, parmasan chicken, carrots. garlic butter potatoes, and peas for dinner. Dinner was fabulous. We had cheesecake for dessert. This was my early birthday dinner. I am actually going out to eat on my birthday, but i wanted to have a regular dinner today because it is easier to get everyone together on Sunday.

Anyway, sorry if I'm kind of rushed tonight, i'm kind of tired and sorta jumpy right now.

Family Gatherings

I know I posted an entry like an hour ago but oh well ha ha.

My family didn't get to get together for Easter on Sunday. There were a lot of us missing. As some of you now Easter was fairly normal, nothing much happened. We decided we would have another dinner today, with more people. My sister in law and her baby, and both my brothers were here. I just finished eating, we had garlic, and BBQ chicken, salad, toppings for salad like cheese, tomatoes, etc. It was over all pretty good, even better than the Sunday Easter dinner and that one was pretty nice.

I've always loved family gatherings like this. My family is usually scattered here and there, we don't get to see each other that much with work, and school and babies, stuff like that always keeps us apart so when we finally all get together it's always nice.

We don't have any curtains or blinds in our kitchen right now, when sunset comes around the sun shines in people's faces when we sit around the table and do stuff. We have this old whiteboard, or cardboard thing (I forgot what it is haha), we keep it around for occasions like this. It's really funny when we are trying to ajust it so the sun is in nobodies face. We were talking about how it's probably time t just buy more curtains, or blinds or something so we don't have to keep doing this as funny as it is.

We do have this big shade that my mom and dad use in their room. We were joking about just moving that shade from room to room when the sun gets in our way it was funny. I don't think we would ever do that, it would be too weird.

Anyway, that was pretty interesting, my niece Andrea was in the background making noise while this was happening, she is really starting to be vocal, its super cute. She is so adorable I love her ha ha. She started being a little fussy so we brought her to the table and gave her a toy to play with for a while. We keep these old toys around, mostly stuff from when we were babies, we like to keep old stuff like that, it has a lot of memories in it.  We put her down for a nap after a while.

It was fun watching my mom and dad prepare dinner, I've always liked to watch them do that. I know one of these days I'm going to have to help out.

Anyway, guess that's all for now. Nothing much is happening at the moment. I will update again if anything happens. :)

Sunday Snow and Ice

Wow so it's already January 2nd it doesn't even feel like it really it still feels like it's December to me.  The snow has been around for quite a while now. it snowed a few days ago again, around new years eve I think. The snow melted a little over the days but at night it get's really cold here so that wet snow turned into ice and how our sidewalks are covered not only in snow but now in ice. I just about tripped when I was walking down the porch steps on my way to church it was so icy and slick.

I was up really early today, I could not sleep and woke up at around 6:14am much to my annoyance. I just decided to not fight it and just go along with it after trying to go back to sleep for about 15 or 20 minutes. I decided to just listen to some music so I plugged my headphones into my ipod and turned on pandora and just lied there just listening to music for about 45 minutes or so while I was thinking about random stuff.

After about 45 minutes I decided to just turn on my computer and go to pandora there instead. the headphones I have plugged into my computer are better quality than the ones I have for my iphone. Plus there was a song I wanted to look up on youtube so I could listen to it again "Desperate by Fireflight". I love that song a lot it's so addicting.  I got on facebook at this time as well and checked a few of my friends profiles and did some other stuff. I also logged into Destiny Online and said hi to some of my friends. Things were pretty much like this until about 9am when I decided to wash my hair.

I always wash my hair every sunday morning before church, otherwise it looks strange. I usually do not blow dry it except for on sunday, I don't really like blowdrying very much. It drys funny sometimes, so I make sundays an exception to this.

We have this thing called fast sunday every month in my church, it basicly where we don't eat anything for most of the day or all day.  I was feeling a little sick though so I just decided to skip it this time and I ate something.

I went back to what I was doing before after this.

Anyway, so back to where I was at the beginning. When I left for church around half past noon the sidewalks were prettty icy. i had to be really careful, and almost slipped once or twice on the way to the car.  I gota  ride to church with my mom.

I don't remember what we talked about in church sadly, in either of my sunday school classes it's really fuzzy. I did notice however that Darik and Dylan went to the other class earlier instead of the one I go to. They usually go to the one I go to. I used to go to the other one (there are 2 gospel doctrine classes in our 2nd hour of church). I started going to the one that our relief society meetings are in though, because it's just easier for me to get a good seat.  I thought Darik and Dylan weren't there , they just went to the other class though I did not realize this until the beginning of sacrament meeting though. I talked to Darik a little before sacrament meeting and showed various people my newly dyed hair.

I bore my testimony in church again this month. Every month we have a fast and testimony meeting where people can go up and tell about spiritual experiences and express to everyone spiritual feelings.  I went up and shared some experiences from my past. I seem to have a good habit going now. This is the 3rd month in a row where I have gone up.

Anyway after church I just talked to a  few people about the previous week and some other stuff then I went home. On my way home when I was leaving the church Darik and Dylan caught up to me in Darik's car (that I love so much) and offered me a ride. I was really happy about this because there was a lot of ice on the ground like I said before.

When I got home I discovered much to my surprise that my mom had made soup (ministroni... or something I don't know how to spell it but it's super good). We had that for dinner. She also put out crackers on the counter. I grabbed a few and put them in my soup. I love sprinking cracker crumbs on my soup.

I have been working on some Asian dramas this past week and that took up most of my day today. I am watching Hana yori Dango, and Hana Kimi. I finished a drama called "you're Beautiful". a few days earlier. I'm slowly going down the list of the most popular asian dramas. I love asian dramas a lot.

Besides that I just played on Destiny, and watched Harry Potter with my family.

Sundays are always my favorite day of the week because my family always gets to spend time together.

Other than that just the usual was going on. Oh, and my brother got me Super Mario DS, and Diddy Kong Racing DS as well this made me very happy. I can tell I'm going to love bothof them since I loved the older versions. :)

anyway, that was my day today. :)

Lemon Cake...

I’m sort of late writing this. It is Tuesday now.

Starting where I left off (mid Sunday), I just hung out watching Harry Potter movies until we had dinner. We had BBQ chicken, home made mashed potatoes, and Ceasar salad. It was very good. We talked about various things that I don’t remember while we were eating. I had 2 helpings of everything I was so hungry.

I went back to my Harry Potter movies after that, I didn’t want to eat cake yet.

After about an hour, when I finished my movie I went upstairs and just hung around, I went back downstairs a few times. It wasn’t long before we had cake though.

We called my sister when we were singing Happy Birthday.  I talked to her fora  few minutes than had my lemon cake. I love lemon a lot which is why I had this cake. My dad also loves lemon cake.

I’ve always had a strange attraction to anything lemon. I never eat lemons though because they ruin the enamel on your teeth of course.

I just did stuff on my own after that. I don’t really remember what though. I did read Fablehaven book #5 fora  few hours though, I think I also watched a few more movies but I’m a bit unclear on that.

Anyway, I’ll tell you about yesterday (Monday) in my next post.

Potluck Dinner Failure...

So my church does this potluck dinner thing after church once a month or so. We just did a time switch with the wards (NOTE: if you're not familiar with the LDS church you might have to look "ward" up).  We're divided into wards. Our ward is usually pretty good about bringing food. I'm in the singles ward (its exactly what it sounds like, a ward full of single young adults only).

This week we failed however for some reason. It probably had something to do with the fact that since we are no longer the last ward to get out of church anymore we have to wait for the other wards to finish Sunday school and such and people just forgot. Or maybe it was a lack of communication.

I find it totally funny though. It also seemed like people had sugar on the brains today. Most of the food was dessert *gag* after all the candy I ate yesterday it didn't seem very appetizing to me at all.

There were only about 6 actual food dishes (non-dessert food). It was pretty sad. Somehow we  successfully distributed the small amount of food to people by some miracle.

Yeah, so this time the potluck dinner was really quite a failure, it was still nice though, I got to talk to a lot of people.

My Mom is Making Soup!

this is for all those people out there who have moms that cook really well like mine.

Don't you just love it when she cooks? I love it when my mom cooks. I have a lot of good memories of stuff she and my dad have cooked in the past. My dad is a good cook as well. I think parents cooking stuff for their children that is really good is a great benefit in a family. Its nice to give your kids some good memories like that. I love my memories.

My mom is making this really good soup "Chicken and Dumplings' soup its so good! She's been making it every since I can remember I love it so much. There are so many great things in it. I love the dumplings though those are great.

There's this other thing she made yesterday (Chicken and Broccoli casserole) That's so great. it has chicken and broccoli and cheese sauce stuff, and you have it with rice.

Cream tuna and eggs over rice is good as well. Its basically tune, eggs, and cream of chicken soup, and rice. I've always loved that.

Those are just a few things that she has made that I rally like.

My dad makes really great chicken, and really great steak. (Mmm)

I'll put a picture up later maybe of the soup.
