Happy New Year

It doesn't even feel like New Years now. Time is a funny illusion and it plays tricks on our minds sometimes. It's a little weird that it is 2012 now, and it feels weird, but it doesn't feel like it is actually a new year to me. I don't know about anyone else but today felt like it was just a normal day.  Since this is January 1st I am taking the opportunity to start my blogging fresh again. Last year I had a resolution that I would write something every day. Everyone that knows about my blog probably knows that did not happen as I planned.  I am going to try to do this this year however. I will fill in the blank spaces on my blog eventually, but I don't want to be in a hurry because I tend to get lazy when I do that.

I have had a minor cold for the past few days. Everyone else in my family caught the flu except for me which I am really glad for. I'm not glad that they caught it, but that I didn't catch it. Most of you are familiar with the common cold, my cold isn't anything special. It's just a little cough, a runny / stuffy nose, and I've slightly lost my voice. It hasn't been that bad at all, I've had a lot worse colds than this so I don't mind it very much. It's better than having the flu anyway.

Nothing that exciting happened today, at least from my point of view. My family has been playing games all day and watching movies I think. I have been downstairs most of the time just playing Mario Party 3 and Minecraft on my computer, doing stuff on my phone, and reading. One would probably argue that I should have been playing games with my family, but the thing about that is that I can never really seem to get into it for some reason. A lot of board games are difficult for me because of my bad vision and I tend to get confused when it comes to card games. I don't like to slow people down, it makes it so it's not very fun for me. I am also not the kind of person that likes to sit doing the same thing for a long time unless if it benefits me in some way. If I do play a board game, or a card game I usually bring my phone with me so I can listen to music, or do something on top of it.  Sometimes it is nice to play, but most of the time I would rather be doing something else. I'm not really the kind of person that likes to be around a lot of people for extended amounts of time. I really value my alone time, it is precious to me in a lot of ways.

I am used to being in my own world, where I can do stuff on my own, when I feel independent I am the happiest.

Besides the things I have already talked about I just went to church. Usually the first week of the month is where we fast and have a testimony meeting in sacrament meeting but since today was New Years they moved it forward 1 week. So, testimony meeting is next week instead of this week.  Church was normal today, the same as usual except for it's at 1pm now and instead of having Sacrament meeting first, then Sunday school, then Relief Society and priesthood it was reversed. I am not to fond of having church late, but the reversal of the church blocks is kind of nice. This is how we used to have it before we switched church buildings and the Young Single Adults were put into their own stakes and wards.

I felt kind of bad for going to my Young Single Adult ward today. Even though my cold is not very bad at all I didn't want anyone to catch it. I almost didn't text anyone for a ride, but ended up doing it. I was careful not to cough while in the car and I tried to sound as clear as I could. I have to admit that I did not tell my ride I had a cold. I just blamed it on the dust and stuff we have been kicking up during the remodeling of our house. I did not want to make her nervous. Part of me wishes I had just gone to my home ward. I don't like it when I feel like I have to avoid people it makes me feel unsettled.  I stayed out of class for part of the time, about half of Sunday School I stayed in the foyer of the church. Pardon me if I spelled foyer wrong I do not know how to spell it.  I was coughing a little and clearing my throat because I was trying to keep the stuff out of my throat. I did not want to make noise and I did not want to disturb anyone or distract from anything so I just left until sacrament meeting started.

When I was in the foyer, I just listened to peaceful music on my phone and looked at random parts of the scriptures while I was waiting.

I was careful not to cough a lot in Sacrament meeting, or make a lot of noise. I was glad when it was over because I really didn't want to be around anyone today.  My ride had to do something else so I got a different ride. I was glad when I got home and could get on my computer.

I was hoping to see Darik and Dylan today but I found out later that they are in Vegas. I really like seeing them at church, I like seeing them in general, if you haven't already guessed that from my other entries.  Part of me is glad they weren't here today, because I wouldn't have wanted to get them sick on accident.  I don't think that would have happened, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I don't have an internet connection on my computer right now so by the time you see this it will probably be a few days past New Years. I am looking forward to a new year of blogging. I really enjoy blogging, even though I get lazy sometimes. I will try to fix that this year though.

I guess that is all for today.

Sunday Snow and Ice

Wow so it's already January 2nd it doesn't even feel like it really it still feels like it's December to me.  The snow has been around for quite a while now. it snowed a few days ago again, around new years eve I think. The snow melted a little over the days but at night it get's really cold here so that wet snow turned into ice and how our sidewalks are covered not only in snow but now in ice. I just about tripped when I was walking down the porch steps on my way to church it was so icy and slick.

I was up really early today, I could not sleep and woke up at around 6:14am much to my annoyance. I just decided to not fight it and just go along with it after trying to go back to sleep for about 15 or 20 minutes. I decided to just listen to some music so I plugged my headphones into my ipod and turned on pandora and just lied there just listening to music for about 45 minutes or so while I was thinking about random stuff.

After about 45 minutes I decided to just turn on my computer and go to pandora there instead. the headphones I have plugged into my computer are better quality than the ones I have for my iphone. Plus there was a song I wanted to look up on youtube so I could listen to it again "Desperate by Fireflight". I love that song a lot it's so addicting.  I got on facebook at this time as well and checked a few of my friends profiles and did some other stuff. I also logged into Destiny Online and said hi to some of my friends. Things were pretty much like this until about 9am when I decided to wash my hair.

I always wash my hair every sunday morning before church, otherwise it looks strange. I usually do not blow dry it except for on sunday, I don't really like blowdrying very much. It drys funny sometimes, so I make sundays an exception to this.

We have this thing called fast sunday every month in my church, it basicly where we don't eat anything for most of the day or all day.  I was feeling a little sick though so I just decided to skip it this time and I ate something.

I went back to what I was doing before after this.

Anyway, so back to where I was at the beginning. When I left for church around half past noon the sidewalks were prettty icy. i had to be really careful, and almost slipped once or twice on the way to the car.  I gota  ride to church with my mom.

I don't remember what we talked about in church sadly, in either of my sunday school classes it's really fuzzy. I did notice however that Darik and Dylan went to the other class earlier instead of the one I go to. They usually go to the one I go to. I used to go to the other one (there are 2 gospel doctrine classes in our 2nd hour of church). I started going to the one that our relief society meetings are in though, because it's just easier for me to get a good seat.  I thought Darik and Dylan weren't there , they just went to the other class though I did not realize this until the beginning of sacrament meeting though. I talked to Darik a little before sacrament meeting and showed various people my newly dyed hair.

I bore my testimony in church again this month. Every month we have a fast and testimony meeting where people can go up and tell about spiritual experiences and express to everyone spiritual feelings.  I went up and shared some experiences from my past. I seem to have a good habit going now. This is the 3rd month in a row where I have gone up.

Anyway after church I just talked to a  few people about the previous week and some other stuff then I went home. On my way home when I was leaving the church Darik and Dylan caught up to me in Darik's car (that I love so much) and offered me a ride. I was really happy about this because there was a lot of ice on the ground like I said before.

When I got home I discovered much to my surprise that my mom had made soup (ministroni... or something I don't know how to spell it but it's super good). We had that for dinner. She also put out crackers on the counter. I grabbed a few and put them in my soup. I love sprinking cracker crumbs on my soup.

I have been working on some Asian dramas this past week and that took up most of my day today. I am watching Hana yori Dango, and Hana Kimi. I finished a drama called "you're Beautiful". a few days earlier. I'm slowly going down the list of the most popular asian dramas. I love asian dramas a lot.

Besides that I just played on Destiny, and watched Harry Potter with my family.

Sundays are always my favorite day of the week because my family always gets to spend time together.

Other than that just the usual was going on. Oh, and my brother got me Super Mario DS, and Diddy Kong Racing DS as well this made me very happy. I can tell I'm going to love bothof them since I loved the older versions. :)

anyway, that was my day today. :)

Happy New Year! And a Recap!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everything goes well for everyone on Xanga! I can't believe it's new years already!

I'll give a recap of all the stuff I did not blog about during the end of the year.

Christmas week was very busy. My sister, my nephew and my brother in law came down from california to gisit us for christmas. My nephew Jax is so adorable. he is only 4 months old. i spent a lot of time around him it was fun watching him and stuff. he did spit up on me a few times though and that was not pleasant ha ha.

Christmas week was busy, we did lot's of shopping and buying various things for Christmas. We went to Bed Bath and Beyond, Ross, Burlington coat facorty, Wallmart, the mall and many other places and bought many things it was a big adventure for all of us and all of us most certainly came home every night with tired and sore feet. I know mine were at least. It seems that the week of christmas we went to every store in the city (which i know isn't true it just seemed that way).

It was fun shopping with the family, we hardly ever get to do anything with each other so it was really nice.

My brother and my sister Linda got this huge TV for my dad to replace out really small one. We had to plan it so my dad was out shopping so we could move the big TV in the living room. It's 27 inch. My brother and my sister's husband did the moving. We had to move tales, plants, and other stuff so it could fit in the living room it was so crazy. We have a lot of plants so it was a  challenge.  it was so funny though seeing them moving all that stuff around just so they could fit a TV.

We played a lot of games, and ate a lot of pie and other great stuff. We had a lot of jellybeans as well. For some reason I kept getting a large amount of green ones.  It was a very sugary christmas. Surprisingly I did not gain any weight from it though. We always play a lot of games around the holidays it's a standard thing in my family. We usually play board games, and card games. Now that I think about it we have never played video games together for years.

Anyway, christmas and christmas eve were pretty cool. Christmas eve we just watched movies, and played games and stuff. Christmas was a bit more exciting though. I was surprised when no one was up early in the morning on christmas day. it seems that everyone except for me and my sister Laura were the only ones up before 7am.  I could not sleep at all. Everyone was up until about 3am the night before and woke up around 9 or 10am in the morning.  We made breakfast around 10am and then got everyone together and opened presents.

Everyone got a good number of presents. it took us a good 2 hours or so to open presents. A lot of boxes of chocolates were opened. We, all 12 of us probably demolished 3 whole boxes. I got some makeup, a Nintendo DS, a Fullmetal Alchemist calendar, some clothes, some books, and a movie (my neighbor Totoro). My other family members got cothes, scarfs, my mom got a new cordless phone, a purse, and some other stuff. My sister got baby clothes for Jax, a lot of presents were under the tree. We had a lot of fun opening all of them.

We made apple skeebers for lunch. They are like round pancake balls with apple sauce in the middle and you dip them in this really great cinnamon sauce. most of the rest of my day was just games and playing with all the stuff we got, like the new TV, and my DS is pretty fun as well! i played with my niece and nephew a lot that day.

I got hair dye stuff for christmas as well, I knew I was getting it though because I picked it out the day before.  I dyed my hair with ION hair color Medium red hair dye. It's sort of a really dark, purplish red. It looks really super nice though. I've never dyed my hair before. My sister did it for me. It's so nice to have a different hair color for once. It looked like a horror shop when I was washing it out though, like I was washing blood out of my hair so freaky ha ha.  I was anticipating the coloring of my hair for that whole week and I was not dissappointed with the results. I'll put pictures up later.

The rest of this week has been pretty normal after my sister left on Monday. Things went back to normal, we all started doing our own things after christmas, playing with our presents, I got my computer back, we fixed it, the holidays were amazing. I miss my nephew though a lot. He was so adorable and fun to play with.  I've been working on some new anime, and doing stuff on facebook all week and setting up my newly fixed computer.

We can play netflix and some other cool internet things on our new TV. I am working on watching LOST now. I've never watched it. I'm not very big on TV, haven't been for about 4 or 5 years now.

new Years Eve was nothing special for the most part except for the end when we got to count down together.  I just spend the day watching Asian dramas it was fun.

Anyway, if I remember anything I left out I will edit this.

This is not my actual New Years Post by the way. This is mostly just a re-cap. I will do my actual new years post later. it's only 1am here now. I have a lot of time.
