Hobbits, Dwarves, and Elves

So I just got back from seeing the Hobbit. I have never read the book, so I had no idea what to expect at all. I remember seeing this really badly made cartoon version a long time ago, but I couldn't rely on that for any help, because it was so dreadfully inaccurate and modified. I was astounded and amazed by the current movie though. I loved every minute of it, and the slowness didn't bother me at all. I have no problem with movies or books that take their sweet time getting to the point. I am glad they didn't try to rush it and make it into just one movie because that wouldn't have made any sense. I think that once all the movies are out and go on DVD a lot of people will change their minds about the slowness. Too many movies that are made from books just rush it and don't get enough in there in my opinion. I think this approach that we have been taking with movies like Harry Potter #7, The Hobbit and some others is very smart. I have no problem with it being in parts at all.

I loved seeing familiar characters like Galadriel, Gandalf, and Elrond. I never get tired of those characters, especially Gandalf, he is so much fun. I wish there were more people like him in the real world. I also wish there were elves. I would have liked to be of the elven folk, that would have been nice. I am really fond of all the characters, including the dwarves, they are a lot of fun as well. I would have to say my favorite character is definitely Gandalf though, hands down. I still have to read the book, and intend to right after I am finished reading "The Hourglass" series.

It was so unbelievably freezing cold on the way back home, 16 degrees to be precise. I am glad I did not get a cold drink at the movies, that would have been horrible.   the previews were so long, I think they might have seemed longer because of the anticipation, but still, I think they were a bit much.

I am actually talking to Ronnie right now as I am typing this. He just had some crazy stuff going on in his life and that is why he was away for so long. I completely understand why he hasn't been around now. I am just really glad he is safe, he scares me sometimes. I think we both have crazy unpredictable lives. I never really doubted he would come back and I would see him again, I was just getting very nervous and some of my defenses started wanting to come up because of it. He is an awesome friend though, I know he would never abandon me without an extremely good reason. I was so happy to see that he messaged me when I was in the car on my way back from the movie, that made me extremely happy. I haven't gotten to talk to him this much in a while, I am enjoying it a lot.

I didn't get much sleep last night, I was watching cartoons and I bought a domain name for my blogger blog and set up tabs to all the different profiles I have on various important sites I like. That is now my website and what I share with my friends and family. I would have done it with this blog, but this is pretty much a secret I keep from all my friends and my family. I think my gaming friends, and Ronnie are my only friends that know about this blog.

Today I found out that one of my favorite youtube channels had nearly all their videos taken down. They are a pretty big music channel, but not all their stuff was posted with permission. I know it's a little far fetched, but I hope they get their stuff back and I hope they will be able to stay on youtube. If they get their stuff back up I'll give you the link to the channel, it is awesome.  A few other channels I follow have had problems with copywrite stuff lately, it has been pretty sad to see some of them have their videos taken down.

My mom made checken, salad, carrots, and garlic potatoes for dinner, they were great. I love my parents cooking so much.  We ate right before the movie.

I managed to get in yet another 4 hour nap earlier, I am pretty shameless about them as long as they don't go over 4 hours. I usually try not to do them all the time because then it just messes up my ability to sleep at night.

I am fairly sure this is all, I might be wrong though. I'll edit if I remember anything worth typing about as usual. :)

Oh yeah, my website and other blog is www.liahna.com

Went to HP number 7 P2 Today

So sometime between the day before yesterday, and yesteray when we saw the movie,  I was informed that we were going to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. I usually don't bother to remember such things so I can't remember when exactly I heard this but I was pretty excited.

We left to get in line sometime around 8:30pm. When we got there, there were a few guys in the lobby making sure the place didn't get really crowded. They weren't letting anyone that was going to the 10:30pm show make a line yet. There were already lines for the other shows and they didn't want the place to get over crowded. One of the guys told us to come back at 9:30pm. We decided to go to Deseret book and spend some time there while we were waiting.

My dad has this bad habit of being really outspoken, even in situations where he probably shouldn't. We were walking past these two or three smokers and he so boldly went up to them and started telling them what they were doing was wrong. I wasn't about to stand there and watch him embarrass himself in front of them. There are some situations when you should just keep out of it not only for your sake but for the sake of the people that are with you as well. needless to say every minute he was there it was a terrible embarrassment for me and my sister that was with us.  I actually told him to stop talking to them a few times and actually told him he was embarrassing us (I did this from the bookstore, peeked my head out the door and shouted it his way).  I quit paying attention to him after that.  I think my sister got him away from those people. I'm not exactly sure what happened between the time I stuck my head out the door and shouted at him and the time he actually came into the book store, and personally I don't really care anymore. I'm just glad he wasn't beaten up or something. Sometimes it's just better for you to be quiet. angryshocked

Anyway we were in there for abut 45 minutes just looking at books and talking to some people. I looked at some CTR rings that they were selling and found one I really liked, I didn't get it though. It was an LDS bookstore so they sold stuff like that.

By the time we were done in there it was almost 9:30pm. We thought we were early, but it turns out the line started 5 or 10 minutes earlier than they said it was going to be starting so there was a pretty good line already. We still managed to get a pretty good place in line. We weren't TOO far back in line, it was actually a pretty good spot. We were in line for probably 25 or 30 minutes. I just spent my time reading the Star Trek wiki while I was waiting. I did this on my iPhone of course.

They let us in at about 10pm. We were seated by 10:04pm, I remember this because I did a status about it on facebook.  I got some popcorn and an Icee from the lobby not to long after we found our seats. I had brought my own drinks, and a little bag of popcorn but I decided to buy my own anyway. I didn't bother to buy candy because I had my own. I had bought 2 energy bars from the health food store earlier. They taste pretty good, I love Cliff Energy bars. I got a macadamia nut white chocolate one and a mint chocolate one. They were both pretty good, and healthier than candy obviously.

The movie started at 10:30pm. I just played on my iPhone while I waited for it to start.

It was pretty good all around. There were a lot of places I didn't like as much as the book but that is to be expected of most people I guess. I liked the movie, but I don't think I want to see it again. I would rather read the books than watch the movies any day. I like listening to the books on audio the most. The ones that are narrated by Stephen Fry are my favorite.

We talked about the movie after it ended, we didn't compare much of the scenes to the book though because my dad hasn't even read the books yet and we didn't want to spoil it for him.

I was very tired by the time I got home. It was around 1am when we got home, some time around that.  I watched a little bit of anime before I went to bed and checked Xanga once. I went to bed after this, I fell asleep fairly quickly.

So that was my experience going to Harry Potter. Other than that I did go to the store earlier yesterday as well. We had to buy some ore Butter Buds and something else I don't remember. We made a stop at "Sunflower" first, it's a health food store. We found one thing we were looking for, but they didn't have Butter Buds so we went to the health food store my mom works at "Good Earth". I went in and bought the butter buds and the Cliff bars that I ate at the movie later.

Nothing much happened other than that yesterday, just my usual stuff, reading, talking to friends, etc. I might have forgotten 1 or two things but oh well.

By the way butter buds are like powdered butter, they taste just like butter but they are healthier. My dad can't have too much fat so he uses other stuff on his home made popcorn. :)

Pirates!

Looks like this is going to be another late night entry. :)

I got back from Seeing the 4th Pirates movie about 2 hours ago.  It was pretty amazing I think my favorite one yet.  My mom got tickets from her work, it was some kind of work party. They booked the movie in one of the better movie theatres over here I was glad it wasn't one of the ones with the really small screen and / or bad sound quality.  I was a bit skeptical at first, but as I watched the movie I got more and more into it.

Yesterday was a bit annoying. I woke up for an even ton Destiny Online only to discover I had log in issues.  Seems like every time the staff create a new patch 3 new game bugs pop up. It is a regular occurance lately, there is a lot to be annoyed with so far as Destiny Online goes right now.  I'm actually going to be decreasing my gaming time soon, on this game at least.

I have tried 3 other games this week. Lord of the Rings Online, Guild Wars, and Legend of Edda Online. All 3 are a huge improvement over Destiny Online.  I especially love Lord of the Rings online. I think I might become a VIP member sometime.

So that is what I have been doing for most of the week, just looking up games and trying them out, nothing to exciting.  I have some other things I want to blog about but it's kind of late so I will leave the rest for later. I just didn't feel like waiting to write about this until later, I wanted to write at least a little. :)

Birthday Extention and Toy Story 3!

Okay, so I got a bit lazy yesterday and didn’t finish.

Anyway what happened on Monday…

I got up at about 6:30, I mostly just hung around listening to music and reading. I thought we were going to leave at 7:30am so I got up that early. I should have guessed we wouldn’t leave that early, we’re usually late to stuff like parades. I guess it’s a matter of priority.

I had cheese potatoes for breakfast (ha ha I know not the best thing). The potatoes were the ones we had at dinner the evening before for my birthday.

I just went back downstairs and listened to music until we left after that. I really love New Age, it’s pretty. I really enjoy listening to it whenever I can along with piano, meditation music, and ambient. I love that kind of music. Music with words is okay now and again but music with no lyrics can spark the imagination more.

Anyway So we got into the car, I had made the mistake of not eating enough before I got into the car. That and the fact that one of my nieces was in a really bad mood made my car sickness even worse. I only get car sick on an empty stomach. I was super relieved to get out of the car, just on the verge of losing my early morning breakfast that I had eaten.

We paused in a few places, watching the beginning of the parade. I never really planned on watching the parade to begin with I was just there for my family because they wanted to go.

We walked for quite a while looking for the place where my relatives sat, we almost gave up a few times, my sister stayed behind and got a ride with my dad once we found the spot where they were sitting. I just got my book out and read the whole time ignoring the parade completely. I just wanted to sit with my relatives.

Anyway, so after that we just went back home. I cached up on some anime, and then just took a nap. I didn’t get enough sleep the night before. I was up until 1am.

Anyway, so we went to a BBQ at my aunts house after that. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, and a lot of other stuff.  A lot of my cousins were there. After I ate I just sort of walked around for a bit and then just started reading my book again. I’m not a very sociable person as you should know by now. I have to admit al the people were a bit overwhelming for me. I am not very fond of big crowds, even if it is family.

We were celebrating 3 birthdays (one was mine the day before) and the other two were cousins. I didn’t get to stick around for the other two though because we had to get to our movie. We did get to eat some of my 2nd lemon cake though, it was fantastic.

Anyway so we left for the movie at about 4pm. We went to see Toy Story 3. I had been waiting for months to see it.

My dad bought me some sort of blue slushy it was good. we had popcorn and candy too.

the movie was really great. I enjoyed it a lot. It lived up to my expectations. I wouldn’t have expected anything else from Toy Story though.

After that I was thinking about going to a ward BBQ for family home evening but I changed my mind, deciding I needed to be alone now because I had been around enough people and wanted some peace now.

I just watched Harry Potter movies and read as far as I can remember. It was an enjoyable day for me.

Movies and Nonsense...

So i decided to watch the Brave Little Toaster. Don’t know why, probably because i haven’t seen it since i was 4. ha ha. It was pretty interesting though, for a movie like it.

Speaking of movies I’m way hyped up for Toy Story 3 in a week. I want to get tickets so badly. I have loved Toy Story for YEARS! One of my best memories is having a sleepover with my sister Linda and Going to see Toy Story 2 when it was in theaters.

I made this chicken, cheese tortilla thing. It’s basically just chicken and cheese between 2 tortillas. You cut it like a pizza. I eat this whenever I have no clue to eat, or if I haven’t eaten very much. It’s really good if you warm it up in a pan, then the tortilla gets all crunchy its so good.

My sister and my mom were burning a bunch of old papers. There were a lot of them. Our house seems to be cluttered with paper all the time. It’s pretty crazy. I remember when I was in school I would have to throw away loads of paper every month it was insane.  Paper can make a real mess.

I really need to make my bed again, I somehow kicked the sheet off and not the blanket a couple of days ago it was weird.

Cinderella

So i decided to watch Roger’s and Hamersteins Cinderella. The one with Brandy, not the cartoon one or one of the old ones. I love the version that has Brandy play Cinderella she plays the role so well!

I was talking to people on Destiny Online while i was doing this. It is sort of late right now. I should be in bed but I lost track of time and started watching the movie ha ha.

Anyway. I guess that concludes the end of this day.  It’s time for dreamland

New Moon Sucked...

Just like I suspected it would be it was dumb, dull, boring, whatever. It just seems so fake, unfeeling, Bella needs a therapist. I did like Jacob however, he's the one person in the book that actually seems genuine. I've always liked Jacob for some unknown reason. Probably because he is more human, or because he is warm, or maybe both, or maybe it has something to do with a reason completely unrelated with that in any manner.

Jacob is the only thing in the movies I like.

I think they did a little better so far as how the movie looked in general, it didn't look as cheap this time. Its how they portray the story that bugged me a lot.

I like the books, but not a lot as I stated in my last Twilight post.

I wasn't about to fork over my money to see a crappy movie so I just found it online. its easy to find movies online now, even if they're not even out on DVD yet. Its really nice, because then I can see the crappy ones without having to waste money.

the Twilight Movies Make me Want to Vomit

I don't like the twilight series in general. I don't HATE  the books like I do the movies but I'm not a fan either.

but I'm not here to talk about the books I'm here to talk about the movies. I'm here to talk about my burning hatred for the movies, the ugliness, emoness and the stupidness of the characters. The whole thing makes me want to vomit. I can't even look at a poster without gagging.

From the moment I first saw the preview for the movies I could see they really would suck.

Lets start with Edward. There is no part of him in the movies that even remotely resembles love. He comes off as a creepy stalker, and If it were real life I'm pretty sure that bella would have put a restraining order on him. In the books he at least came off as remotely loving her, I feel like they sucked all the life out of it, the love, it just seems creepy. I just don't see anything, or hear anything in the movie's portrayal of Edward that proves me loves her at all its like its just a bunch of words without meaning, actions without meaning and such.

Edward is ugly, and creepy, and there is nothing about him in the movies that resembles "dazzling" at all.

Okay now time for Bella.  Bella is EMO everything about her is depressing and gloomy and she looks like a wreck. Bella is UGLY freaking ugly, there is really nothing to justify how ugly she looks in the movies, even outside of the movies she is still ugly. Bella is mental, I don't see how she could fall for stalker Edward.  Everything about her relationship just screams unnatural.  Her obsession for Edward is far past anything healthy, she needs a counselor, she needs help, its just not natural. if there is anyone in this whole world that obsesses over a boy the way she does I'm sorry but you need a counselor too.

Jessica is a stupid airhead in the movies, that is the way she comes off. Everything about her is so snobbish, even her voice. the way she talks is retarded.  Her little group of friends seems stupid too, they just don't seem right.

The whole cullen family is un attractive, and ordinary. They all look like they have been put in the freezer for a couple of hours. I really see nothing special about them, they aren't that great.

The way the movie portrays the story is just not very well done, its sloppy and they cut a lot of good stuff out.  the storyline is pathetic, the whole story itself is pathetic in many ways. I'm sorry if you disagree with me on this, but this is just my opinion. I don't particularly care if you like the movies the point is that I HATE the movies, and the 2nd one looks even stupider than the first one.

I've been wanting to let this out for a long time now.  I can't stand all this hype over these crappy movies. It is very annoying, its way past annoying.

Halloween Party

So I went to this halloween party yesterday it was pretty fun. Every year my church throws this halloween party. we get a bunch of people together and watch movies, do a dance with a professional DJ, we have food and stuff. Lots of people usually come. It was really fun yesterday.

For the food we had chips and salsa, pizza, caramel apples, chocolate fondue with bananas,  home made root beer, apple juice, and some other stuff. It was really fun. We had a couple of movies playing in 2 of the churches rooms. One was Signs, I don't know what the other one was I forgot ha ha.

We had the church gym made into a dance floor, we had a  professional DJ, and the lights were awesome, and we had that mist stuff that they spray at dances. It does cool things to the lights.

I went with some of my friends, there were probably around 400 people there it was nice. The dance went until midnight. I'm glad I got to go this year I didn't get to go last year. We had this huge costume contest and people won movies and stuff it was pretty nice. The costumes people were wearing were hilarious, and awesome. People are so creative over here.  I was a princess, I'll have to take a  picture of my costume and put a picture up later.

I ate so much candy yesterday night, I'm glad I'm not going Trick or Treating anymore. After you turn 20 it gets a bit awkward ha ha.

Anyway I guess thats all.

Car Sickness and Twilight

Okay so I just got out of Twilight. There's this new Cinemark theater that my sister works at and she gets to take me to movies. My uncle came as well. The movie was alright I didn't like it nearly as much as the books. There were a lot of scenes that I wanted to see that weren't in the movie and some stuff that was put in that was un- nesicary. I thought Edward didn't look very good and same with Bella. The lighting was depressing and dull and Jessica was an airhead. I'm never going to see that movie again it was just OKAY. A major put down (yeah I'm a harsh critic).  I did like the scenes with Charlie they were funny though.

I had normal popcorn (they have kettle corn and ice cream as well there and a lot of other things at the theater). Yeah so anyway, I had normal popcorn and some sour patch kids and a Dr.Pepper.  NOT a good mix.

I got in the car and thought I was going to throw up within the next 2 minutes. I was so queasy and the world felt like it was spinning. We had to go pick my niece up from school so I had an opportunity to get out of the car and feel some relief from my horrid car sickness. I have NEVER gotten so car sick. I usually don't get car sick at all. you know that feeling you get when you have the flu and its right before you throw up I had that feeling. If I hadn't gotten the chance to get out of the car I probably wouldn't have been able to keep it in. It was pretty horrible. The most torturous car ride of my life (literally).

I'm so glad that's over.
