Portal Two + Cake is Awesome

We had some left over cake from Natalie's birthday so I decided to eat some while playing portal two! The game has been fun and I'm getting through it even though it's definitely harder than the first one. I have always enjoyed puzzle games. I love the uniqueness of Portal, it has so much imagination put into it. Anyway, I've just been pretty much playing on and off all day. I'm excited for my trip to Bear Lake as I think I've said about a million times! haha. Anyway, I'll have plenty of cool stuff to tell you over the next few days so I'm just going to let this go for today. No need to write a novel like I sometimes do. :)

Crazy Numbers

Just been spending most of my time playing portal. Excited for the ward activity in  a couple of days! I've never been to Bear Lake. I hope it doesn't have as many mosquitoes as I have heard. I absolutely hate flying bugs! Anyway, here is a church doodle I did today.

Portal

So I've been hearing the expresion "The cake is a lie" for years without not knowing where it came from. Well, now I know. I started playing Portal today and I am hooked. Ever since I added James on Steam I've felt like playing more games on there. Portal is a  room escape game and it is fantastic. Chances are most of you have at least heard of it. You navigate through rooms and obstacles by use of a portal gun which can create two portals. I'll leave a video below. The game is fantastic and I can hardly seem to pull myself away from it. The video is spoiler free. It basically just shows you the bare basics without ruining anything.

Guess Who Got New Glasses!

Finally got my new glasses today. I've been waiting for a while. They are slipping down a lot, but I don't think I'll end up wearing them for stuff other than movies and TV as usual.

No more sleeping on top of a comforter for me. 

Eventually I want something really colorful, but for now this is perfect. It's the only thing I've seen that I solidly like so far. Mom got it for me. :)

End of Summer BBQ

 Today my ward had an end of the summer BBQ and I brought some mini cinnamon rolls from Costco. We originally started outside, but it started to poor, so we moved inside. While we were outside getting everything ready I talked to James a little bit, and asked him what kind of games he likes and other stuff.

When we were inside I actually got to add James on Steam, I will probably play more since I have him as a friend on there now. He accepted my friend request after the BBQ. At the BBQ we had a mini devotional and talked about Bear Lake as well. I am really excited to go there and I also saw that James took one of the packing lists which makes me happy. I really want to get to know him a lot more, I've put it off for long enough.

There was chicken, salad, fruit, the usual stuff you know at the BBQ. People also brough chips, brownies, cookies and lots of other stuff. I had a lot of fun talking and eating.  Truthfully, it took me a long time to get the nerve up to ask James what his Steam username was. i am not really used to so casually talking to him yet.

Carmel Apple

Today nothing much happened. I tried a Zapple apple for the first time today, they are new in the mall and so far I am impressed. I also went out and got grilled cheese for lunch, it was great. Later I just played minecraft and a bunch of random stuff.

Too Quiet

Nothing much happened today, I just turned some Rhapsody of Fire on earlier when no one was home. I decided that since no one was home I might as well play it loud and that was really fun. It really was too quiet. Later I went for a walk and took these pictures, it was a nice walk.

Brunch?

I thought it would be fun to walk to Harmons and have brunch there. I got a yogurt, an egg salad crossant and an orange juice. I sat down at one of the tables they have there and ate. Overall it was a nice experience, and so was looking around the store for what I wanted to eat.

I ended up going to the mall and walking around. During the end I went to Cold Stone Creamery and I got a churro caramel crave. I've never tried any of their specials before, but now I want to try them all.

Anyway, later I took our my new cello, played for a bit and took a picture of it out of its case!

New Strings

Today I went to Summer Hays to get my Grandpa's cello fixed and walked out with a brand new cello instead. It would have been nice if I had been able o fix it, but I think trading the old one in for a new one was a wise decision. I am going to be paying $50 a month for it and it costs $1400 all together. It was really fun looking at all the instruments and seeing how much the people work there know about the instruments they work with. I was impressed how much the guy that looked at my grandpa's cello knew just by examining it. I am looking forward to learning more about the cello myself. I am absolutely a beginner without a doubt, but I will improve.

Also, I was playing around with webcam toy today and I got some cool pictures! I think I like the abstract one a little bit more than the other one.

Double Birthday Party

Today after church we celebrated both Jax and Sam's birthdays at the same time. Both of them are at the beginning of August, but Jax, Violet, Linda and Justin are leaving before Jax's birthday on the 9th this week. I am going to miss them. We broke open a piniata and had cool cupcakes. They were chocolate and had yellow and pink frosting. Kayla (Paul's wife) has a pretty big talent for making cool cupcakes.

Besides this, nothing much has happened today. I did officially become friends with James though! I sent him a text reaching out in friendship and it looks like he wouldn't mind! I've wanted to be James's friend for a long time, but I couldn't do it for a while because he used to remind me too much of Sam. I try my best not to make friends with people based off of comparisons, it just wouldn't be fair at all. I also started using Steam again. I don't know if I will use it much, but we will see. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures from today.

Thanksgiving Point (Part 2)

Today we went back to Thanksgiving point. We went to the gardens, they were stunning and we walked around. Jax got a blister on his foot and he got really upset. Some of us tried to get him to walk, but he wouldn't do it. Some of us decided to walk back where we first entered and get golf carts so we could ride through the gardens. We though ti would be worth the money to make the experience easier for the kids. It was also hot and sunny and I don't blame some of them for complaining. I got a lot of pictures of the gardens they were stunning. At some point I ended up going off on my own, but it didn't last long.

The day was absolutely perfect, and we also did stuff like going to the dinosaur museum, they have a really great one! We also went out to eat at the cafe again. I got a smokehouse burger this time. We got ice cream at the ice cream place afterward that was also inside of the cafe. I got a mint chocolate shake, and some other people got things like large banana splits, and other stuff. Anyway, it was so nice having the family together like this! I made sure to get cool video so I wouldn't have to explain everything in a lot of words. First, here are the last pictures.
