Snowey Memories

So it is winter here in Utah, and snow it sort of a thing to be expected. Especially when you live near a bunch of mountains like me.

The last two years have been crazy so far as snow goes. The first year we had major snow was 2 years ago. It snowed heavily one day and it just kept on snowing for 3 months. Every time the snow looked like it was going to let up and melt it snowed again. On top of that it was freezing so the melting snow turned to ice, and to crunchy snow and it got o people's nerves a ton.

I didn't really do much out in the snow 2 years ago that I remember. Except for that day when I decided I would try and shovel the snow. That was a complete and utter failure though because the snow was very heavy and packed by that time. All the other neighbors abandoned shoveling their driveways after a  few days because it just kept on coming back even worse. I was out there for 3 or more hours and I didn't even get half of the driveway or even a quarter for that matter done.  I'm pretty sure that was 2 years ago, maybe that was last year, I don't remember.  ha ha.

EDIT:Oh, I was looking through my past blog posts and I did a litle entry about it. It was 2 years ago.

((That post is also on this blog as well... i'll edit this later))

Last year however was different. There was one significant day I remember. It was near Christmas, probably close or after new years most likely. It had been snowing fora  couple of weeks. I think the snow started 2 weeks before Christmas last year. My sister came home from California to spend the holidays with us. We all decided that we would put the snow to some use and build something with it.

We started out trying to build snowmen. I was taking pictures for the first part of this but I decided to join in and help after a while. I managed to roll a big ball along with my sister, it got really heavy. We came to the dilemma of how to get them up on top of each other. That was quite a  funny dilemma indeed. We tried lifting it up with the help of 3 people but that didn't work and then we tried rolling them on top of each other but that didn't work. I think what we ended up doing is building a snow ramp and rolling it onto it that way. I can't remember exactly.

For our other 2 snow men we did a rather easier approach to it. We built the 2nd and 3rd balls right on the bottom part of the snow men so we wouldn't have to go through what we went through with the first one.

It was dark by the time we finished our snow men. I think I was the one that put all the finishing touches on them. It was a beautiful evening, cold yes, but beautiful none the same.  And it started snowing again right when I was finished. I even got pictures but I'll put them up later.

We had the neighbor kids over to when we did this and we made snow chairs and had snowball fights as well it was so much fun. That was a great year for snow.

This year I didn't do anything special like that, but it did snow a lot. Not as much as last year or the year before but still a lot. I think its actually on the verge of melting.

Oh, but this one weekend I did step in a big pile of slush and froze my feet that as really cold. I didn't realize how deep that was. I laughed it off though. It was quite funny.
