Just Missing Misfortune

In case you are wondering where my posts for the last week and a half are don't worry, they'll be up soon. I'm just finishing all of them and doing edits. When I have them up I'll remove this part of the post so it looks like they were always there.

Today I mostly just hung out at home. Actually besides the main event of the day today was pretty boring. Early in the morning I called my dentist to see what I should do about my really cold sensitive tooth. I am really lucky that I just happened to read online one day that cold sensitive teeth are a bad sign or things wouldn't have gone well today. Originally I set up the dentist appointment for Monday, but during an afternoon nap I was having I heard my phone buzz and they told me to come in around 4. I hurried and got my stuff together because it was 3:30 and got a ride from Mom. I was a little nervous because obviously Dr. Perry was worried or suspected something. When I got to the office I waited for a couple of minutes and then an assistant came and got me. I should have gotten his name, he was pretty nice and asked what the trouble with the tooth was. He did a couple of X-rays and then I waited for Dr. Perry to come.

It turns out that my tooth is decaying and cracked, but they can fix it with a root canal probably. I've never had a root canal, so I'm really nervous, but I'm glad I don't have to loose another tooth. The last time I got teeth pulled was back in 2009 I think. I'm not sure if I blogged about it, but if  did I'll link to the post here once I find it. I normally don't talk about my teeth because they make me feel a little self conscious, but I think now that I'm older I'm fine with explaining my situation. Basically I have a genetic breakage that caused me to have no permanent teeth on the top. I think I have most of them on the botton, but on the top I've never had any. Anyone that knew me before the 10th grade knows that I never originally had my two front teeth at all. The genetic malfunction caused the teeth that would have been my front ones to fuse with the ones next to them causing a rather large and obvious gap. The teeth on either side looked like normal teeth and the bone material that I'm pretty sure would have been some of my permanent teeth became part of my deformed left toe. The whole situation is just weird, I know.

Outside of my family I've only shared everything with a few friends including Brooke, Devin, Rebecca, Amanda, Amy, a few of Amy's friends and Darik. Chances those of you who previously were told have forgotten I'm pretty sure. I think Darik saw most of my frustration haha.

I have 8 baby teeth left on the top, so you can understand why I don't want to lose any more. I've lost the two on either side in the front that were fused, and then two more on either side. I used to have all but my two front teeth, but baby teeth really aren't meant to stay, so it's only natural that I've had problems. I actually wear a prosthetic retainer that has fake teeth. Here I'll actually show you a picture. One of the teeth has broken off, but it doesn't really matter. I might have it fixed soon, but not yet. I've had this retainer since the 10th grade I think after I got my braces off. I had my braces for 2 years I think.

WARNING! Very unattractive photo of me below. haha. Here is my retainer first though.

So now you know my secret troubles that I never talk about. I can get oral surgery, but my upper lip has no bones and so not only would I need implants, but I would need to have a bone graft in my upper lip. If I ever decide to do the surgery or when I'll probably crowdfund for it or something because it's going to cost me somewhere around 50k or more. I could never pay for that on my own.

So tomorrow I am going to call the endodontist and schedule my root canal probably. I have no idea how I'm going to pay for it and the crown I'm going to need, but I'll figure it out. For now you will just have to wish me luck because root canals on baby teeth aren't really done that often... I think it'll work out in the end.

When I got home from the dentist I actually ate a slice of chocolate cake. I'm going to make sure to brush my teeth well later of course. Nothing other than the dentist visit happened today. We had veggie burgers for dinner. I personally love veggie burgers a lot. I just played games on my phone, listened to music and the usual stuff after this. Thanks for reading this post,
